Top seed Fish advances to ATP Delray Beach quarter-final

<div><p>Top seed Mardy Fish defeated fellow American Vince Spadea 6-4, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the 500,000-dollar ATP Delray Beach International Championships.</p><p>Fish, seeking his first title since 2006, advanced to a Friday matchup against the other highest remaining seed in the event, French sixth seed Florent Serra, who ousted Germany's Mischa Zverev 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.</p><p>The only other remaining seed in the hardcourt tournament is seventh-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy, who eliminated Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev 7-6 (7/4), 7-5.</p><p>Chardy, ranked a career-best 52nd, will face Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis in the quarter-finals. Baghdatis defeated Israel's Dudi Sela 7-6 (9/7), 6-3.</p><p>Fish, the 2003 Delray runner-up was is ranked 21st, was broken twice in the first set but returned the favor three times in the first set and twice more in the second, improving his career edge over 34-year-old Spadea to 4-1.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=43765933&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
